With the summer holidays fast approaching, many parents are often left stuck with ideas and activities to do with the children. Here are a few things on in and near Hackney to keep the kids occupied:
1) The Geffrye Museum.
The Geffrye Museum offers free summer holiday activities everyday for various age groups (ages 5-16, under 11's must be accompanied by adult. Activities include arts and crafts and exciting games. More information and full timetable can be found at:

2)) Contemporary Dance
Fun and energetic activity that gets children dancing in new and interesting ways . The class challenges and develops children's own original choreography and focuses on individual expression of the thinking dancer (7-12 years):

4) Railway Fields, Green Lanes
A short bus journey from Hackney and just off just bustling road of Green Lanes, behind magnificent iron gates lies one of Haringeys most hidden and wonderful treasures. 5) Summer Art Camp, Victoria Park
Summer camps are a brilliant, especially when it is hard to take time off and find childcare during the summer months.
New Summer Art Camp with Wonderland Ceramics for 8-12 years old.
Weekly price £154. Daily price £39.
The camp will run from the 25th of July to the 19th August. Book by the week or by the day.
If booking 2 or more children for a week or 2 weeks or more for one child for just £144 a week. Discount for booking 5 to 9 days passes across the camp duration or between a number of children £37 a day and for 10 days passes £35 a day.
Drop off between 8.30 to 9.30 am. Collect between 4.30 to 5.30 pm. Early or late club from 8.00 am drop off and collect right up to 6.00 pm cost £3 per session. Staff CRB checked with extensive experience in childcare and craft.
Each day children will discover a new exciting craft : pottery painting, making clay pots with potters wheel, silk printing, mosaic, felting etc. and will enjoy a play in the playgrounds of Victoria Park (weather permitting). Snacks provided. Bring a packed lunch.
