Stoke Newington Early Music Festival

Begun on a shoestring, the Stoke Newington Early Music Festival has grown and flourished through the years. It is a community event and has been running for 22 years, with all events taking place at the Old Church, Clissold Park.

We are delighted to present a vast array of programmes for you this year and we feature some of London's most respected ensembles and performers. Opening the festival is The Monteverdi String Band: Oliver Webber and Christopher Suckling present their Art of Improvisation in Bach and Corelli. This is followed by the Little Baroque Company's decadent and immersive Coffee Cantata, The Telling's drama/concert The Imagined Testimony of Hildegard of Bingen, recorder quintet Consortium V with their program from the Golden Age of instrumental music and Chely's Viol Consort presenting a wealth of music from the courts of Charles I and II. We close the festival with our first family concert Tales in Music: The Pigeon and the Albatross by the Little Baroque Company Co. and local Stoke Newington narrator Grethe M Jensen.
